More than 10,000 women changed their aprons to white T-shorts and went to Palace square, where a holiday of beauty and health Women`s tenth 2009 took place on September, 12th. This joint Russian-Finnish project gathered women and girls of all ages to participate in 10 km race for the 4th time.From early morning the central city square was crowded with people. All possible contests and games were conducted for participants in firms-sponsors tents. The company “PRISMA”, promised to present their products and to deliver them for free to the person who can guess the exact amount of them. Participants contested to be the owners of toy air balloons!
At noon, the start singal was given. It was so many women, that they were coming slowly from the square for more than 20 minutes! The traditional itinerary of the tenth is done on the most beautiful places of St. Petersburg. Sun-drenched bridges and bays, which became racing paths for a couple of hours, represented a solemn sight.
Though as far as women cannot be without men, they were accompanied by their boy friends, brothers and husbands. And when they were asked about their motto, they always answered for health!
Everybody came in to the final mark, some running, some going, some on rollers and some on bikes. The quickest were professional sportswomen including Olympic winners. It is very important that they all have lots of energy for Women`s tenth 2010 race.
